Where are you located?
I am located in Chicago, Illinois, but travel around the Chicagoland area and Wisconsin for most of my sessions. I love seeing new places, so am ready to travel if I'm lucky enough to be chosen as your photographer!
What is your style?
I consider myself a natural light, photo-journalistic photographer. I love photographing the raw, real emotions of people, whether that’s the Father of the Bride tearing up when he is seeing his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time, or the high school senior laughing because his mom is telling me how his favorite Halloween costume as a child was Bob the Builder. Although I capture natural moments like these, I also will style and pose my clients when needed.
What kind of equipment do you use?
I always use my Canon camera and bring my back up camera just in case. I know time is valuable during photo sessions so I like to use as less gear as possible. I would much rather spend my time photographing you than switching out my lenses. I'm not afraid to maneuver myself around to get the best possible shot I can. You can guarantee I'll probably have my step stool with me because I use it as another tool to get some of the best angles I can during our session.
Can we get the digital files from you?
Though I do not give out raw files, the high resolution digital files come with your photo session. You will receive a flash drive with all of your high resolution digital files as well as access to an online gallery.
Do you edit your own photos?
Yes! Other than photographing you, editing your photos afterward is one of my favorite things. I individually edit each and everyone of all of my photos, which includes color adjustment and spot correction. I like to keep photos looking as natural as possible.
Why are prints included in your wedding package?
I value print. Matter of fact, I value print so much that I want you to value print. Printed photos are tangible heirlooms that you can pass down for generations to come. If I were to just give you a flash drive with your files on it, you might never get your wedding photos developed. I'm guilty of it myself for my own wedding. It took me forever to get my photos developed because my wedding photographer didn't provide me with any prints. I want to make it easy on you. I want to give you a way that you can have great photos to have in your home right away without having to print them yourself. Plus, the keepsake box with your photos in it looks great on your coffee table and guests will love looking through your photos this way :)
Is a deposit required?
Yes, if you choose me as your photographer, I will email you a contract and ask that you sign and return it with your deposit to secure your date. I ask for a deposit in order to lock you in on my calendar, which assures you that I will be available during your session’s entire time frame. Each type of session has a different deposit requirement. Please inquire for specific deposit amounts.
How long does it take to receive our photos from you?
Because I strive to provide my clients with my best possible work, I don’t rush through the editing process. The length of time it takes to receive your photos depends on the type of session, time of year and my current workflow. Typically, portrait sessions are finished within a week, engagement and family sessions are finished within 2 weeks, and weddings are finished within 4-8 weeks.
